Boat Asia 2008

'Mr Zaman is inviting us to boating this weekend.'

'OK!'

Not an enthusiast of these floating structures, I have no idea that Asia's leading boat show was on at Keppel Bay.

Quoted as :

'ASIA'S LEADING LEISURE BOAT AND LUXURY WATERFRONT LIFESTYLE EVENT, SHOWCASING THE LATEST SAILING YACHTS, POWERBOATS, SUPER YACHTS AND LUXURY LIFESTYLE PRODUCTS'

After a lazy morning, we changed into our casual outfits and made our way to vivocity for lunch before heading to Sentosa where we go on board with the rest.

'The rest' consisted of Mr Zaman and his son, Jonathan and a young pretty lady, Anna, Shane, Martin and his beautiful Korean wife. The number of people was comfortably nice.. not too many.. not too few.

We reached Sentosa on time and took a few snaps.

Hot Hot day. We met the rest in the boat and checked the boat out. It was neat! Well facilitated with beds, mini stove, dining area and air conditioned interior. The open area has a table with cushioned seats around - good for chilling out.

We spinned off to the exhibit at Keppel Bay and reached in about 10 minutes. Nice. The feel of not only wind, but occasional splatter of seawater on your face.

After we have reached, the boat was parked. (Is it the right word to use? Parked?) Then we were treated to an eye feast of floating playthings, luxury floating playthings...

Small One

Big One

The above is as good as a floating house. It has everything you can imagine doing at the comfort of your own house.. if not more. But again, why do gym and cooking and sleeping in a boat when you can do it back home? Maybe these owners have this cheap thrill that they are doing normal activities on water instead of hard land.. Who knows? The rich are well known for weird fetish.

After burning ourselves out in the sweltering heat, it was a huge relief to see an exhibit indoors. I mentioned Boat Asia.. But there were cars and bikes in there as well as special guests' appearance.

A Small one

A Big One

It is the same bike they are riding on. If you think it is a child's bike, you are wrong. This is a big boy's toy. And Mr Eddy Yeo, the old boy, bought one. This machine feeds on petrol and can go up to 45-60 km/hr. Not bad. The bike has yet to be ready for collection.. but I m doubting that a real grown up can ride on it safely.. Look at Jonathan, before he can start the bike rolling, he would have died of bad cramps. The smile he carried above lasted for a mere second for my snapshot - I bet the poor boy is holding his breath while on it.

The rest of the exhibits were pretty much expected.. accessories for boats, wakeboards and stuff. Nescafe had a counter alongside Mövenpick. Martin was nice enough to treat us to a sluppy scoop of ice-cream.. Yummy! Thanks Martin!

We made our way out and proceeded back to the boat for our journey back to Sentosa.

Mr Zaman and Anna

Evy having lots of fun with the balloon

When we reached Sentosa, most of the people were already exhausted, or rather, I was already exhausted. We took a snap before parting ways.

All thanks to Mr Zaman for making it happened. Thank you!

Bellini Room Apr 2008

Bellini Room with the girls.

Friday nights at St James - super duper canned sardines crowded.
The intention to have this meet-up was for Mdm Rachel - she was heading for South California for a couple of weeks for work. So... there we went. Funny thing was, when all had been confirmed, Rachel decided to give it a miss cause her luggage was not packed yet. @#$%^&*(%^
Nonetheless, the rest of us went ahead.

Friday being a working day, we were not really in any clubbish attire. In a spanish mood, we headed for Movida. The place was so crazily crowded.. Our little Ah Lian Diana Wong could have died in a stampede!!!
For her safety, we went to the counter, ordered our round of drinks there, waited there, stood there, drank there - then left. -_-;;; I never felt more like a sardine amongst other sardines squeezed in a tight can.

It was only a short 30 minutes in there.. just when we were cursing under our breath for not doing a table booking earlier, Diana's beau, Anson, appeared out of nowhere like a hero and invited us to join him at Bellini Room. Phew. At least there was proper moving space and time for a few snaps.

We had fun as usual. PHG rox!!
